The Palacia Hotel Koror

Palacia Hotel

Less make no beans about this Palau is an expensive country. There are though a few bargains to be had out there, with the Palacia Hotel being one of them.

I was here as always as part of our Least Visited Countries Tour which begins in Palau.

What the Palau?

Palau, a small Pacific island nation, boasts pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and rich cultural heritage. Known for its world-class diving spots, it’s a paradise for nature lovers. Despite its small size, Palau maintains a strong environmental focus, with sustainable tourism and conservation efforts.

Local cuisine here leaves very much to be desired with the former reliance on seafood and local flavors being replaced by outside forces. These of course include spam and corned beef, as well as Filipino and Chinese food. For those inclined I can suggest MJ Restaurant.

What the Palacia Hotel?

The Palacia Hotel in Koror, Palau, is a solid no-frills option for travelers. Located near restaurants, shops, and the main attractions, it offers a convenient base for exploring the island. The hotel features clean rooms, a small pool, and a laid-back atmosphere.

And while it is “budget” for the island, so much so that the airlines use it when flights are missed, it is actually nicer than the average hotel myself or indeed YPT would stay.

Around the Palacia Hotel

As this is “downtown” there is a a lot of shops around the hotel, in fact more so than at other hotels. This includes the late night Canoe Bar which is opposite the hotel and charge 10 bucks a pint.

Other than that there is the aforementioned MJ’s, some stores, a supermarket and even what locals might call a mall! You will not go hungry or bored here, at least by Palau starboards anyway.

Location of the Palacia Hotel

The Palasia Hotel in Koror, Palau, is located at the coordinates 7.343290, 134.480750. Alas that is as close as we could get, with Koror not exactly a Metropilis.
