This is an article that is fairly overdue, but Signatures Restaurant in Mount Hagen is perhaps the best nightspot and restaurant in Mount Hagen.
So, why does no one know about it?
What the Signatures Restaurant Mount Hagen?
This place opened around 13 months ago in the summer is 2023 as the second higher end restaurant within the city, after of course the Highlander Hotel. Now when we say high end it should be noted that this means high end for Papua New Guinea, not like “high high end”.
This means a good menu, western and local food, safety and in the case of Signature restaurant at least a great booze cabinet.

The food at Signature Restaurant
When we came on the Mount Hagen Tour last year this place was discovered accidentally, but we were extremely happy that we did. Although we were the only people there it had a great outdoor area, as well as a fine alacarte menu.
This included everything from steak to fish, pastas and a kiddies mac and cheese. I actually got two kids meals, rather than a main and it was epic. Our group stayed here at the bar and got hammered. As you will see from age photos this is a legit wine cellar of a place.
The bar Signature restaurant is also very good and cozy with then serving margaritas. This might not sound impressive, but again spend some time in the boonies of PNG and you will appreciate this.
This year was a little different with the Signatures offering and Indian buffet as it was India Day. At first I wondered if I was in the wrong place, but it was a one off. The buffet was decent enough if not cold at times, but what was really cool was the highland girls in Indian saris doing island dancing. It truly can be a strange world.
Best if all this is not even on TripAdvisor.com yet, meaning it is largely unknown. I do hope my little article does not spoil this…
