The seafood here is a winner. Whether it’s tuna sashimi or grilled lobster, you can taste how fresh it is. And if seafood isn’t your thing, the coconut curry is a solid choice—comforting, flavorful, and served in an actual coconut.
Food That Looks as Good as It Tastes
Mangoes doesn’t just serve good food—it looks amazing too. Plates are simple but colorful, letting the ingredients shine. Even desserts, like their chocolate lava cake with fresh fruit, are no-fuss but still feel special.
Personally I went for the Vanuatuan take on ceviche. This was not only served with a fabulous salad, but also with a half shell of coconut.

The restaurant overlooks Mangoes Resort’s gardens and pool, so the setting is as relaxed as it gets. It’s perfect whether you’re on a date, grabbing dinner with friends, or just treating yourself after a day exploring Port Vila.
Is It the Best in Town?
Port Vila is actually a bit if a culinary wonderland, particularly when compared with other neighbors, such as Honiara or Port Moresby.
Despite this Mangoes Restaurant still by far ranks as one of the best places to eat within the capital. This is particularly the case when you take in the presentation. Is it as good as LHoustalet? Probably not, but it is still a must when you visit Vanuatu.
