It is amazing what 24 house can do, but that is exactly how long it took for us to go from NEVER to eating at Chef Marks Style Italian and Japanese restaurant.
Why though the initial issue? Well our first thoughts where that Japanese and Italian foods were not greta bedfellows. This though was overcame as both hunger struck, options became limited and a piece of pie was given to us gratis.

Chef Mark Style Island and Japanese Restaurant
Chef Mark Style was to have a full Japanese and indeed a full Italian menu on both sides of a one page menu. This included a bunch of moon dishes, but without showing expertise in either.
The Italian side had classic like pizza and pasta will the Japanese one had much less sashimi than the group would have liked. This though did not stop a quite literal boat of sushi being ordered.
The Chef Mark Style of food?
Our big boat of sushi was indeed big and theoretically good value at just $30, but was severely lacking in quality. Actually this is unfair as it really was not all that bad for a beach restaurant in El Nido. It was though not exactly a Japanese experience, with even the wasabi being sub-par.
No one had pasta, but they did have pizza which was indeed more than passable and was eaten. This though is not to say it is the best in El Nido, which it is not. You can read about the best pizza here.
The one sunny point though was the buttered shrimp which were the second best I had tried today.
Overall, you do not come to El Nido for sushi and if you need pasta or pizza go somewhere else. In fact they did not even have kinilawd, despite being quite literally on the beach.
Still you come to Palawan for Island Hopping and fish, so that would be our plan in the coming days.
